Publishers: At Media General's Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina, Jeffrey Green has been named publisher; previously, he was vice president of sales and marketing, a job he'd held since November. Earlier, Green spend 1-3/4 years as president and chief executive of Iwanna USA LLC, owners of classified shoppers in the Carolinas, and before that was publisher of North Carolina's Asheville Citizen-Times in 2006-2007. From 2004-2006, Green was senior vice president of advertising and marketing at Gannett's Honolulu Advertiser and before that was ad sales and marketing director at Media General's Tampa Tribune and worked in advertising at the Winston-Salem paper, the Washington Times in the nation's capital and at Madison Newspapers in Madison, Wis. He began his career as a researcher at the Journal Sentinel in Milwaukee. Green replaces Mike Miller, who resigned in May; he'd been publisher in Winston-Salem since January 2007. Earlier, Miller did 7-1/2 years as publisher of Media General's Morning News in Florence, S.C., and before that did two-year stints as publisher of Thomson's papers, Indiana's Terre Haute Tribune Star, the Daily News Sun in Sun City, Ariz., and Pennsylvania's Altoona Mirror. From 1979-1994 he was sales and marketing director at Thompson's Canton Repository in Ohio, and from 1977-1979 he was ad sales director at the company's Alabama paper, the Dothan Eagle. ...

At Wick's Daily News of Bogalusa, La., Richard Meek has been named managing editor; most recently, Meek had been the fund-raising manager at New Orleans City Park. Earlier, the 34-year news veteran had been with The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, where he had started in 2002 as a sports copy editor and later worked as a sports and general assignment reporter. Sciacca previously was the paper's deputy managing editor for news. Potter previously was deputy managing editor for design and production, a job he'd held since 1998. Earlier, Potter was executive news production editor for three years and before that was a copy editor for three years. Before joining the Herald, Potter was with the late Burlington Times-Union and the Billerica Minuteman for two years, where he was managing editor. From 1986-1989 he was editor of the Times-Union. ... Earlier, Stoeffler had a 28-year career with Lee Enterprises, where he served as general manager of the company's Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis, interim publisher of The Post-Star of Glens Falls, N.Y., vice president of news at corporate, editor and publisher of the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, editor of Nebraska's Lincoln Journal Star and editor of Wisconsin's La Crosse Tribune.
